📖 Review – The Devil's Sons, Volume 1 – Chloé Wallerand

The Devil's Sons
The Devil's Sons

"Devil's once, Devil's forever"

🔥 A gang, values, and a romance that stands out!

I was hooked on The Devil's Sons as soon as I read the synopsis, and honestly, this first book did not disappoint! This first volume immerses the reader in a dark and intense universe, but without ever going overboard, which is what I liked. The story primarily focuses on the bonds between the characters, family, and loyalty, not just the dark and dangerous side of the gang.

💀 The Devil's Sons: More than a gang, a family

What I really liked is that the Devil's Sons aren't just violent bad boys. Unlike what you might expect from a typical dark romance, they have principles, values, and they don’t hurt people just to show their strength. You can really feel the family spirit, which makes their relationship with Avalon even more intriguing.

✨ Avalon, a heroine who doesn’t give up

I really liked Avalon, especially because she doesn’t play the role of the fragile girl who needs to be saved. She’s sick, but it doesn’t define her character, and on the contrary, she tries to make the most of life. I loved her combative personality and the way she stands up to the Devil’s Sons, while developing a sincere bond with them, almost like a sibling relationship, and I thought it was well done.

😈 Clark, a bad boy who's a bit too cliché ?

While I overall loved the characters, Clark is the one who didn’t convince me much at first. He’s too much in the role of the tortured, indecisive bad boy, which can be a bit frustrating. But as the story progresses, we learn more about him, and he becomes more endearing.

🔥 A dark romance that doesn’t overdo the "dark" side

What sets The Devil’s Sons apart from other dark romances is that the story doesn’t focus solely on the romance or the gang’s violenceit also has a unique atmosphere with its world inspired by Norse and pagan beliefs. This blend adds real depth to the story and gives the universe an original touch. Plus, the "dark" aspect of the romance is well-balanced—it doesn’t overshadow everything, allowing the characters and their relationships to truly develop.

📖 In short:

✔️ A gripping story with a good balance between tension and emotions.

✔️ Engaging characters, each with a compelling backstory.

✔️ A strong heroine who doesn’t let circumstances break her.

✔️ A gang with principles, breaking the usual clichés.

✔️ A unique touch with Norse beliefs.

⭐ My rating: 4.5/5

I really enjoyed this book! If you're looking for a dark romance that stands out, with an inspiring heroine and a gang that has real depth, I highly recommend The Devil’s Sons without hesitation.

"I hope that one day you will manage to break free from all the chains that keep you prisoner..."
